Traci Atkins Park in Mount Clare, Baltimore is a one acre park less than a mile from historic Hollins Market, bound by the first laid commercial long-distance track in America by the B&O Railroad. A recently constructed mounted police stable and proposed horse paddock lies South of the site. The project’s design goal is to foster social sustainability through the beautification of a neglected public space while improving relationships between the community and law enforcement. Objectives for the project include creating spaces for community events, providing more seating opportunities, increasing canopy cover, and defining recreational spaces.
